Transmit 3 great but can’t upload?
UPDATE (30 Dec 08):
Okay here goes, Transmit works, I guess it’s just one of those one off cases in which it doesn’t work for me for a while. I’ve bought the app from Panic again, am loving Transmit. Also bought Coda, a must have for every developer in my opinion!
UPDATE (06 Dec 08):
The developer have kindly refunded me, and following up with another email to further figure out the problem I was facing with Transmit. I installed the app again, and this time it works. I’m not sure if this is a one off problem, but I’ll further test it for another month before buying the app again. For now I want to give credits to the developer, I really find some of the unique features very useful, making the app a cut above the rest.
- Syncing with MobileMe (gets all your Macs synchronized)
- Preview side bar (selecting a file, either locally or remotely, shows you a preview)
- Column View (you can choose between 2 types of file/folder navigation)
- Tab browsing (open several FTP windows in Tabs, just like Safari browser)
UPDATE (03 Dec 08):
I have more or less confirmed that there are bugs in Transmit 3.6.7. Tried uploading all kinds of files but it just doesn’t upload, giving me error messages. Once again, the same thing can be done successfully with Fetch 5.3. The app costs $29.95 and I’ve asked for a refund and uninstalled the app, not sure if the developer will do me a refund though. All these hype about Transmit means Transmit must have done something right, but maybe not in this latest 3.6.7 version.

I switched to Panic’s Transmit 3.6.7 FTP client from Fetch 5.3 recently. After reading all the features I bought the app in a heartbeat.
Thing is, I can’t even upload? Or am I the only one, if you’re using the most recent Transmit 3.6.7, let me know if you’re having any problems. I tried using Fetch to accomplish the same task without any problems.
Don’t get me wrong, I love all the nifty functions that Transmit provides, if only it can upload.
I have emailed the developer 3 times but receive no respond, so I recorded a screencast to show them, I’m also posting the screencast here to show you the problem I have encountered, basically I’m not able to upload even a small JPEG file, while Fetch does it in a split second:

I assure you Transmit 3 can definitely upload. :)
Send me an e-mail with details — most importantly a full copy of your “Transcript”, which you can access via the “View” menu — and we’ll solve this. I’m sure it’s just a setting somewhere we need to double check, like Passive Mode, or…
(As for support, we strive to answer support e-mails in a couple of business days. If you want to send me copies of your prior e-mails, I can dig around and see why they weren’t replied to yet.)
Thanks! -Cabel/Panic
Hi Cabel, a person called “Les” replied, i’ve already sent him the transcript and some screenshots regarding the error. I’ve also made sure the setting is set to Passive Mode (which is already set by default), both in the preferences and the favourites as instructed. But I still couldn’t upload.
I would love to be using Transmit but I’m not sure why it just won’t upload..
