Blogo – Blog Editor for your Mac

A while ago I reviewed Qumana, while there’s also a popular paid alternative called Marsedit, here comes Blogo ($25), the new blog editor for Mac by Brain Juice.

Blogo comes with all the standard features of a blog editor and much much more. What I’m glad about this new blogging app is that it fills in the holes of what’s missing in other blog editors. I can finally fill in “tags” for posts and also choose “open in a new window” for hyperlinks.
Yet again, I’m always looking at the aesthetics of an app before I recommend it, Blogo has one of the most beautiful interface I’ve seen. The colours actually feels like aluminum with black as accent color, reminds me of my late 2008 Macbook Pro.
Editing your Post

All the editing functions are on the right, with bold, italics, underline, strikethrough, quote, list, hyperlinks. You can even click the fullscreen button to edit posts in fullscreen. No more distractions!

Inserting Images
You can drag and drop images into post, with the added ability to crop the image, link to the larger image or any other link, change the width/height etc. Talking about flexibility.

Previewing your Post
Blogo lets you preview post as how it would look like on your actual blog itself! This gives me the added confidence to click the “Post” button. No more unpleasant surprises!

What Blogo does is create a template of your blog based on the real blog post. Very smart!
Blogo Bookmarklet

The little bookmarklet lets you post any text you select from your web browser to Blogo. Not sure if I’ll use this to the fullest, but one of the features you won’t see in other blog editors.
Pings

Lets you “ping” when publishing your post.
Microblogging – Twitter Integration!
If you love Twitter, you’ll love this feature. You can update your Twitter, reply, direct message, see your friends’ tweets, everyone’s tweets etc using Blogo.

Thanks for your review! We would like to correct one thing, however: the name of the company is Brainjuice, not Drink Brain Juice.
Sorry about that! It’s been corrected.
